We are proud to present Allen and Jill Kirkham as our special guests for High Plains Live! in March. This special program, sponsored by the South Dakota Humanities Council, will take you on a journey of discovery about the history of traditional western music. Allen and Jill are husband and wife National and International award winning Traditional Western Music performing artists from right here in Custer, South Dakota. They Feature singer-song writer Allen Kirkham on vocals, yodels, guitar and mandolin, and Jill Kirkham on vocals, story teller, bass, and harmonica. Allen and Jill are 2019 Legends of Dakota Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees and South Dakota Humanities Scholars. They are 2015 Cowboy Idol Winners, 2016 Academy of Western Artists (AWA) Western Music Group of the Year Award Finalists, and 2015 and 2016 International Western Music Association (IWMA) Award Finalists.

Allen and Jill are featured western artists at Diamond Tours Dinner Show in Rapid City. They have also performed with the Custer State Park Blue Bell Lodge Hayride and Chuckwagon Show and have worked as professional western musicians in other chuckwagons and stage shows throughout the Black Hills and throughout the American West since moving from Colorado in 2013.

“Allen and Jill Cowboy Classics” CD was just released to Western music radio this May 2019.

“Sunrise On The Prairie” CD was released to Western music radio in January 2018. On the Western Way Magazine  Top 30 Western-Cowboy CDs Charts for January-March 2018 it debuted at #4 and stayed in the top 20 for all 12 months of 2018! Allen’s original title song debuted in the Top 10 at #1 played on radio by Western Music DJs worldwide!

“Sunrise On The Prairie” CD was awarded the “Original Western CD of the Year 2018” by the Rural Roots Music Commission and National Traditional Country Music Association. Allen is the Worship Pastor of Crossroads Church, Custer. He is retired US Air Force and US Army with 34 years of military service. Jill is a professional artist and photographer, and retired High School teacher and coach. Allen and Jill are both members of the South Dakota Mounted US Marshals Posse.
