Crazy Horse Display Donated to HPWHC

by Larry Miller

A wonderful framed story about famed Sioux Chief Crazy Horse is a new display at the High Plains Western Heritage Center; it was researched, written, framed and donated to the museum by David Peterson, a North Dakota native. A 1968 graduate of Verona High School, Peterson attended NDSU in Fargo before serving in the U.S. Army, including a two-year stint in Germany. After the Army he returned to NDSU on the G.I. bill and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Agriculture/Farm Management. Peterson and a brother then purchased land from their father and he returned to ranch life! In 2004, Peterson married his wife Paula; with two step-sons, David and Paula now have four grandchildren - as well as two great granddaughters. David Peterson says he always had interest in history and then began research into famed Sioux Chief Crazy Horse. We are delighted that he chose HPWHC as home for this beautiful display!
